your full name: Tyler "Ty" James Evans
played-by: Chris Pine
date of birth, age: January 15, 1982; 28.
occupation: Sportscaster on WCVB (ABC); commentator/blogger for ESPN & espn.com.
residence: coming soon
contact: coming soon

family information: Tyler James Evans was the second child and first son for Catherine Ross-Evans and her husband James, who had welcomed their first child, a girl, two years prior. Catherine and James met while attending Boston College (Catherine for education and James for pre-law) and married shortly after graduation. Catherine worked to support the two as James finished up his law degree. Soon after James graduated and joined the partnership of Smith, Stein, & Parker, Catherine found out she was expecting their first child. The two always wanted children, so even though the news was a bit unexpected, it was welcomed. Tyler's arrival two years later was cause for much more excitement, and when their third child, another girl, arrived five years after that, they knew their family was complete. When James' law career began to take off, Catherine quit her job as a high school math teacher to stay home with the kids. Although the family was never overwhelmingly rich, they lived more than comfortably and still do.

Tyler's childhood was, in a word, uneventful. He was happy and loved, and honestly that's all he could ask for. While in school, Tyler played hockey and baseball, although his true love laid with football. He grew up very close to his sisters and will often joke about being "well versed in women" after living with then."

education: Tyler attended his parents' alma mater, Boston College, with a major in marketing. He had originally planned on getting a degree in sports marketing at another school and becoming a sports agent, but while attending BC he began doing bits commentating on one of his favorite things - sports. He soon developed a love of being on camera and added another major of communications to his degree. He did an internship in a local news station and was hired after graduation.

career: Tyler has been with news station WCVB since he graduated in 2005. He was a junior reporter and worked his way up to anchoring on weekends when the station's lead sportscaster was caught up in a cocaine and prostitutes scandal that left the station no other choice but to fire him. Seeing his popularity with their viewers, Ty was promoted to lead sportscaster for the evening and night news. A lifelong Boston sports fan, he thoroughly enjoys working with the Bruins, Celtics, Sox, and Patriots organizations. ESPN, looking for a Boston-based anchor, caught wind of him in 2009 and in early 2010, Ty began covering sporting events for them, both online and on-air. Currently he writes the ESPN blog for the AFC East and covers all of the teams included in that division. This means that sometimes he is flying to other cities to attend games but to him it's totally worth it - the Super Bowl tickets he received last year were a dream come true.

personality: Tyler is extremely laid back. He's one to "go with the flow" of things - until he sees something he wants. He never backs down from what he wants in his career or in his personal life. He's a typical "guy's guy" in that he loves nothing more than playing/watching sports and throwing back a few drinks in the process. He loves traveling and thinks that's probably the best part of his job.

relationships: Tyler's never been the type for long-term relationships. It's not that he doesn't want one - he thinks he likes the idea of them just fine. He just hasn't found that girl that makes him want to spend all of his time with yet.

likes: sports (especially all Boston teams), craft beers, pancakes, being active, traveling, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, loyalty, roller coasters

dislikes: clinginess, Miller/Coors products, bandwagon fans, the Yankees, cold feet, olives.

storylines:
[info]charlielevine - "just one of the guys"; Tyler met Charlie almost three years ago when she was working in a bar and he was, well, drinking. Taken aback by her brazen dislike for his beloved Sox, the two started a playful banter until before you knew it, Ty was a regular and they were hanging out watching games together. She's become like another sister to him, yet she's one of the guys, too.

[info]dakinknight - "the new bromance"; Tyler met Dakin at a Young Professionals conference a few months ago and the two have enjoyed hanging out together and discussing their common interests.

[info]candacemarie - "the little sister"; Candace is Ty's baby sister. He's close to both of his sisters but, if pressed, would probably cop to having a soft spot for Candace. While she worked as a nurse in New York, Ty would visit her as much as possible, especially when his job brought him there, but he's much happier to see her home in Boston now.

[info]eveam - "the ex"; Maeve and Tyler were close in high school. After graduation both went their separate ways, only "keeping tabs" on each other via the requisite Facebook profiles. About two years ago they ran into each other in a bar and hit it off again. They dated for about six months before Tyler broke it off - he didn't want to get too involved because he did not want to hurt Maeve's daughter.
